Notes from Craig and Lisa

Craig O Connor’s notes

It was exciting working with a collaborator, which is something that I rarely do.  Lisa's songs were the plot points of the show and all I had to do was write the situations that got us from one song to next until there were no more songs and  I could finally write "company bow."  What I enjoyed most was finding the balance of adding humor to a serious story without making fun of the characters or their problems.

Lisa Yves’ notes

I met Craig when we were performing in a concert version of Chess.  He told me he was a writer and had written several books and screenplays. After reading some of his works,  I asked him if he wanted to collaborate with me with me on my new musical.  As soon as Craig came on board, the rest of the show took shape.  Many of the songs were already written and Craig was able to make the story flawlessly move from one song to the next .  Craig was able to give the characters authentic voices and really made the story genuine.
